Tutor: Janie Pirie SBA
Learn how to illustrate white flowers on a white background. It’s not quite as difficult as you would think. You will be shown how to colour gentle shadows to create soft and delicate white and pale coloured flowers using coloured pencils. Lisianthus, lilies and daisies are just some of the wonderful selection available at this time of the year so there will be no shortage of subjects for you to choose from.
What to bring:
Students will need to bring along any coloured pencils they have but if they are going to buy new then a small selection of Faber 9 Castell Polychromos are recommended for beginners to start with but buying individual colours from Janie is probably the best.
If you can afford to have a complete set of colours Janie recommends any of the following: Faber 9 Castell Polychromos, Prismacolor and Caran d’Ache Luminance or Pablo.
You will also need:
HP Art Paper – 300g
Janie will have a selection of materials you can buy including paper, sharpeners, erasers, a selection of coloured pencils (the most popular colours) and a variety of other ‘tools’ you may find useful to create your drawing – all of which will be demonstrated by Janie.
The day includes: tea, coffee, pastries, lunch and homemade cakes.
